Hello, My name is Melvin Morales. I'm currently 22 years old, I'm from Ansonia, Connecticut.

Drawing has always been a natural-born gift of mine. I've been creating at a very young age, most of which was self-taught. I was a very observant child; anything visually stimulating caught my attention.

Throughout time in Elementary school I had always received recognition for my talents, but never criticized. (Ideally at my age, it was a step I unknowingly needed in my process). A neighborhood friend of mine had recommended I check out a magnet school in New Haven that solely focused on the visual and performing arts.

Wanting to improve my skill, I decided to attend the high school; In 2007, I attended Cooperative Arts & Humanities. During my sophomore year there I befriended a Visual Arts teacher who'd eventually became my mentor. Showing me techniques in which I had constantly ignored. Under his guidance, I learn the truth behind working on your passion; the long hours of work, the skipped meals, the sacrifices, and the mistakes.

I concentrate on pen and ink media, creating Illustrations and designs. I also have basic knowledge with other forms of media such as: Painting, Photography, and Film. The idea of being creative is what I strive for, no matter what form it's in. Imagination is the key ingredient to any creative process, the beauty of imagination is that it is boundless.

'Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep.- Scott Adams
